Sensory integration

Sensory integration therapy is designed to regulate the nervous system’s response to sensory stimuli such as touch, movement, sounds, and smells. It is widely used for children with developmental disorders including autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. Therapy sessions involve interactive activities like swinging, deep pressure, balance exercises, and sensory-motor games to enhance attention, fine motor skills, and social interaction.

Symptoms may include: over- or under-responsiveness to sensory input, difficulty focusing, balance problems, or unusual reactions to sounds or touch.
Causes are often linked to neurodevelopmental conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, or delayed nervous system development.
